According to a rumor on WSJ, Universal Music Group will try to sign a short term contract with iTunes and avoid the yearly contracts of the past. This has to be a conspiracy of Apple and Microsoft to create compatible earbuds. iPhone has a recessed earphones port (see photo) and while it uses the plain 3.5 mm type, you'll have to use an adapter for many types of headphones. But not for Zune's headphones which can be plugged with no problem! ... 
A new hot rumor is out: The production of a Zune version with an 80 GB hard drive will begin at the end of July, so it can be in time for the 2007 holidays.
