World religion made interesting
Imagine you are in a gigantic shopping mall. In this particular mall there is a shop representing every religion, spiritual philosophy and cult on the planet Earth. The Christianity store is the biggest and it’s near the entrance so you decide to have a look around there first. The interior is spacious and bright white. The plastic Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene manikins are plentiful and the neo-gothic organ music is subtle and soothing. Before long you see a leather-bound Bible on a fancy pedestal. You flip it open to a verse in Psalms 4. POOF! You feel a presence, and it “ain’t Jesus.” No Sir (or Madame), it's a greasy salesman! “Can I help you with anything?” the Christian salesman utters like he has said it one million times before. “No, I'm just looking” you respond. You’ve said that to one million greasy salesmen.

So what is this shopping mall metaphor all about? Christianity was just used as an example because it has the most followers in the world (the biggest store) and since you are English-speaking, you’re familiar with it (closest to the mall entrance). The point is it’s tough to “window shop” for a religion. There’s a pushy evangelist around every corner! If you search the internet for information on Islam for example there’s a good chance you will get the biased opinion of an Islamic organization or some random religious fanatic. See, everyone is trying to sell you their religion.
