Great
Ruler of Nations - Does your nation’s
leadership share the same viewpoint about
their country and themselves that King
Nebuchadnezzar (605 - 562 B.C.) had about
his vast Babylonian empire and himself?
King Nebuchadnezzar believed that he
was an exceptional person, and many national
leaders today believe they are too! Whether
they are kings, princes, dictators or
elected leaders, they seek the respect
and honor of their people. They look
at their accomplishments and wealth and
congratulate themselves for what they
have accomplished. But they miss an important
truth.
The Babylonian empire reached
its height under the rule of the king. His
capital city of Babylon was the largest city
of the ancient world and contained the Hanging
Gardens, which according to the Greeks was
one of the seven wonders of the world. The
city was also the location of the magnificent
temple to the Babylonian god Marduk .

| "Cool
Church" Is Wrong? |
The
Arizona Daily
Star on
July 06, 2007,
confronted the
Tucson Community
Church, also
known as the "Cool
Church," for
their views about
same sex relationsips.
The newspaper
reported, "The
church preaches
that being gay
will cut a person's
lifespan by 30
years. The claim
comes from a
dubious study
from the 1990s
by the Family
Research Institute."
The editorial section
of the newspaper
referred to the church
as an "outfit" and
protested calling
homosexuals sinners.
The article ended
with, "To those
who live their beliefs,
'love thy neighbor
. . ' is not a recommendation
subject to negotiation." For
a biblical response
about same sex marriage
please read, "The
Bible on Same Sex
Relations."

| Dark
Matter |
After
the author, Joseph Silk,
explained that dark matter
does exist in our universe,
he made this comment, "
This means that there
can be up to 400 times
as much "dark matter"
as visible matter. This
has a profound implication
for any theory of cosmology.
Even if we should
come up with a theory
that perfectly explained
what we do see, we have
still not explained the
universe - because as
much as 99.8 percent
of it may still be beyond
our perception. Humility
might one day be added
to the list of qualifications
for being a cosmologist."

| Quotes
From The Past |
"There
are always people who
are prepared to pervert
the words of Christ for
their own purposes, and
to deny the final judgment
in order to persuade
themselves and others
that they can sin without
fear of punishment. Do
not even listen to such
people, but turn your
back on them." -
Polycarp (A.D. 69-155)
