Minus The Bear have entered the studio to record their follow-up to 2005's "Menos El Oso," tentatively titled "Planet Of Ice." The band will record with Matt Bayles (Isis, Mastodon), the group's former synth op, who left the band a year ago to focus on production.
"So far, we are working on roughly 14 tracks and are still working on finishing up a few more," says guitarist David Knudson.
"We're substantially done with writing and the music sounds very organic to me," adds frontman Jake Snider. "We've been on this intense musical journey the past few months and this new record is going to be expansive... but catchy. Everything is bigger and seems, at least to me, more dramatic than the last record."
"Planet Of Ice" is scheduled for a summer release on Suicide Squeeze; in the interim, MTB fans can look forward to "Interpretaciones Del Oso", the band's remix record, which will be released Feb. 20.
