Setting up a home based business is one of the greatest challenges in life. And I mean greatest both with regards to biggest and best.

For me it has been an ongoing journey that constantly teaches new lessons. Lessons about money, marketing and most of all myself.

I thought that it would be a breeze to develop an opportunity. After all, I had experience (managing multi-million Dollar events for large companies) and a good education (Master of Business Administration). I had great ideas and the passion to pull it through.

But I was wrong and here is what I learnt:

- The desire to create value has to outweigh wanting to earn money

- Do not fulfill clients’ needs, provide what they want

- Stop selling and start developing relationships

- Passion is a great basis but it is not enough to succeed
