The Site Vortex ... is a non-commercial, comprehensive catalogue directory of large directories and niche directories. The free "add url" source catalogue was compiled and created to assist other webmasters with part of their searh engine optimization by submitting your website url for inclusion into Search Engines, Meta-Search, Directories, Indexes, Portals, niche Directories and the like.
Many of the directories listed here will help your website achieve higher search engine rankings by providing back-links and will possibly offer some traffic within the directories themselves. Many directories also listed here will be valued only for the traffic that they may indeed receive. Also, by using a continued website submission campaign, along with optimizing your websites script for good search engine optimization, you can receive decent to excellent search engine rankings. This can be accomplished by anyone who is willing to hand submit their websites.
The most effective directory links for page ranking are "one-way" static links. Meaning, your link on their site without a link-exchange. Of course the higher their page ranks, with your link on it, all the better. See; "Google Page Ranks" for Webmasters.
I have compiled a very hefty list, of not only free web directory submissions, but pay-sites as well. Many of these pay-site search engines and directories are very reasonable yet some, IMO are just too costly. You be the judge.
