Moving Music Off Your iPod
When you’re in the business of writing about the iPod for fun and profit, the question most often thrown your way is: “How do I get my music off the iPod and onto my computer?” Learn how to do it for legal purposes only.

Graphic Design
New pages on how to design a Web page with impact. Currently there are two indexes focused on graphic design: Graphic Design Basics Index and the Design Process. The first page you should read will help you create an Overview of your site, and then use The Brain's Strengths to start kicking some butt!

Archive your CD Library and Decrypt iTunes
Please do not get the wrong idea. We are opposed to pirating software and remain committed to paying artists for their work. But we also believe that when you purchase media content-whether it is a song a movie, or a TV show--you should have complete freedom to play it on all of your devices as many times as you'd like.

This is a great power, and with it comes great responsibility. It is within your right to copy media for your own use, however, as soon as you give that content to a friend, you're breaking the law and violating the artist's copyright. If artists stop getting paid for their work, they'll stop making it, and we'll miss out on the music and movies we love. Extracted from MaximumPC

You can begin by: Decrypting ITunes, Archiving your CD Library, and How to rip (legally) copy protected CDs.

A Global Movement to End War
In 1945, Albert Einstein was one of many who signed a letter calling for the end of war, and condemning the use of nuclear weapons. War is a very complex issue that has been part of our culture since its' inception. Our view is that war should not be a part of the global community/culture, nor does it have a place in the Web 2.0 culture that is currently in the embryonic phase of development.

For those who share our views, we have included an extract from the book Addicted To War. Listed is a small number of the many groups conducting anti-militarist education and organizing anti-war activities in the U.S. The movement is growing rapidly and is very diverse. Some of the most vibrant organizations are fledgling, local groups that we were not able to include here. We encourage you to contact groups whose activities are most closely aligned with your own concerns, beliefs, and talents. We invite you to become part of the global community, you can begin by contacting one of these groups.

Digital Rights Management: Down the Tubes?
Steven Jobs began what appears to be the inevitable demise of
DRM by stating publicly that the four major record companies start selling songs online without copy protection software. A couple days later music label EMI Group began talks to release a larger portion of its music catalog for Web sales with the protections. Despite success in suing people who download music illegally and in reaching deals with personal networking sites like YouTube, the music industry is still bleeding millions of dollars in sales to online piracy.

Freeware and Open Source
The Free Software Foundation (FSF) is dedicated to promoting computer users' rights to use, study, copy, modify, and redistribute computer programs.

The GNU Project was launched in 1984 to develop a complete UNIX-like operating system which is free software: the GNU system. Variants of the GNU operating system, which use the kernel called Linux, are now widely used; though these systems are often referred to as Linux, they are more accurately called GNU/Linux systems.

GNU is a recursive acronym for "GNU's Not UNIX"; it is pronounced guh-noo, like canoe.

Here is a definition of Free Software. One reason for creation of freeware is The Microsoft Monopoly, but there other advantages to using open source. OpenOffice is a great way to start getting involved.

Rise of the Web's Social Network
Since its beginning, the web has often been used as a tool to meet new people, but in recent years the interaction between web-users has grown dramatically, spawning a new generation of networking sites. To keep up with the youth movement then The Wired Family and L33T is a great look at what is going on.

Audio and Home Recording
You might be aware of the war now raging in consumer electronics is between the HD DVD and Blue-ay formats. Both offer much greater storage capacity than DVD (15 and 25 GB per layer, respectively, compared with 4.7 GB per layer for DVD)...Read more...

Quality Brain Work in the Workplace
Employees: increase personal growth while on the job. Employers: increase the efficiency of each employee while creating a joyful, yet efficient work environment. With satisfied employees comes an increase in production. With increased efficiency comes increased profits. Bottom line: There is no reason why capitalism and self-realization cannot work together. Here are the tools needed to increase individual brain quality at the workplace.

What is New at TEWM?
Answer: Everything that interests me and then some. Neurology, art, music, systems theory, technology, Web design, digital photography, consciousness, jazz, parenting, health, computers... it would probably be easier to list what does not interest me.

The latest thing to really grab my interest is the Web 2.0 concept. Not, Web 2.0 from the programmers perspective, but from a cultural/world community perspective. It interests me for the simple reason that I have always been awed by technology and have always felt a part of the world community. I would bet that many from my generation (the Baby Boomers) share a tacit drive to bring technology and world culture together. Web 2.0 appears to be a product of the 1960's ideology.

The beauty is: Technology + World Community = Web 2.0! (Let's make that a factorial!) Anyway, things have been defined and now is time for action. A simple definition is the Wiki definition. So here we are, closer to the dreams that drove our world in the '60s and with this great tool of technology at our disposal. One individual says to Make Web 2.0 the best possible commons for supporting free markets and free culture. Expect to see more here about Web 2.0. And so the building continues...

Brass and Musical Instruments

Brain Self-Control is a step-by-step introduction to your neurophysiological mechanism with which you can click into your dormant frontal lobes to cause the automatic nirvana/born-again transcendence phenomenon. A new order of intelligence, and creativity emerges spontaneously. Brain Self-Control was introduced to the public by University of Chicago graduate T. D. Lingo (PhD), in the 1950's.

Say What?
About our title: The term Eclectic can be applied to systems that gather the best from a variety of external systems. In our case, we will focus on the tools needed/used for creative expression. Matrix has numerous definitions, but we will define a matrix as being the visualization of all permutations or forms needed to add meaning to life. We will primarily explore artistic creations, and will explore sources used to create a culture of art. Obviously, it all begins with the raising and caring of our children, the caring of our own physical and mental well-being, and using the tools of technology humanely for creative expression...and so the journey begins.
