TRANSART INSTITUTE MFA LOW-RESIDENCY PROGRAM. Animation, Architecture, Curatorial Work, Cyber Art, Film/Video, Game Design, Graphic Design, Installation Art, Interactive Art, Interdisciplinary Art, Painting, Performance Art, Photography, and Sound/Music. Students create their own course of study and work independently on art and research projects off-site with the support of faculty and self-chosen artist mentors. Lectures, critiques, performances, exhibitions, seminars and workshops take place in three intensive summer residencies on-site in Berlin and New York. The low-residency format permits students to continue with their professional life while participating in the program. Up to one year's credits accepted from other postgraduate schools. SEPTEMBER 2009 EXHIBITION Projekt30 is taking submissions for our September 2009 publicly juried exhibition. We are an artist-run arts organization dedicated to promoting emerging artists. The exhibition will include thirty artists; invitations will be sent to over 30,000 galleries, collectors, and fellow artists. Visitors have the option of contacting any participating artist with feedback or opportunities. As of Nov. 2008 over 200,000 messages have been sent to participating artists. All artwork submitted will be presented online prior to the exhibition so visitors may help select which artists will be included in the exhibition. I: PART 2 Projekt30 is accepting self-portraits for our upcoming juried show "I: Part 2". This show will consist entirely of self-portraits, though what can be considered a "self-portrait" will be broadly interpreted so as to allow artists of all styles and disciplines to participate. The exhibition will be publicly juried, meaning all artwork submitted will be presented online prior to the exhibition so visitors of Projekt30 may help select which artists will be included. DREAM DEFERRED. Call for Proposals. Purdue University Galleries (West Lafayette, Indiana) is currently reviewing proposals for an exhibition of contemporary art relating to the Langston Hughes poem "A Dream Deferred" and contemporary socioeconomic challenges facing minorities in the United States. The exhibition will be presented in the Stewart Center Gallery from January 11 through February 21, 2010 in conjunction with a presentation of "A Raisin in the Sun" at Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette. Kearny Street Workshop, the oldest Asian Pacific American multidisciplinary organization in the United States, is now accepting submissions for the 11th annual APAture festival of emerging Asian American artists. Each September, APAture showcases about 100 artists at venues throughout San Francisco, making it the Bay Area's biggest platform for Asian American art. INTERNATIONAL JURIED WATERCOLOR EXHIBITION About $8000 in cash and merchandise. Works Eligible: Watercolors executed within the last 3 years and not previously exhibited at NEWS Internationals. Maximum dimension is 42 inches in any direction. Paintings must be properly framed and securely wired for hanging. No collage or pastels. All entries must be glazed with acrylic such as Plexi-glas (No glass). The committee may rescind the right to hang any work misrepresented or unsuitably presented.
